concept

I push to fully realize my visions as tangible, thought-provoking media. I look for innovation to push the boundaries set by the predecessors.

Design

I take a cinematic approach to all our projects, ranging from documentary film to business profiles. I'm always looking for new mediums to utilize in storytelling.

Production

From start to finish I work diligently to produce exciting long lasting work. I collaborate with other artists to grow and expand the local creative community.

Kenyatta Jenkins: Uno Royale (2019 Grand 253 Submission)

2019 253 Grand Cinema submission. 3 days to make a film with a runtime of 253 Seconds or less. 4 Criteria: "back to square one" line of dialogue a white dress a scene from a popular film fake news. Thanks to my cast + crew for helping me make this, I enjoyed every second.

"...like I said, La Fondita know what they doin'." - Jason (Tacoma)

This was a collaboration project close to my heart and another aspect of filmmaking I wanted to accomplish; filming in a different language. The symbiotic relationship between the head chef and the local community that reveres him was inspirational to me. I find hope in the stories of those surviving on the profits of their dreams while nourishing others.

"the fight remains."

I was proud of this film for a few different reasons; this is a time capsule piece, shortly after filming funding for the gym fell through, and one of Tacoma's storied franchises was orphaned. I completed a sports documentary, centered around my community, and on an iPhone 5S.

"...the rush I felt, the freedom...it was amazing."

Unintentional existentialism? The Grand Cinema's 72 Hour annual challenge is a great way for me to express feelings I didn't know where there, like an emergency therapy session. After filming this I quit my job. I felt million times more alive being awake in my kitchen all night editing this at 4 am than I can say for all my years clocking in. This one means something different to me every time I see it...and it don't hurt to win.

My Directors Cut

My first narrative work. It takes a lot of will to turn blank pages into moving pictures. I am proud to have met and befriended one of the better local cinematographers I've known Keaton Tucker. This was a major high point in my guerrilla filmmaking start. I learned how to storyboard, edit, and identify key elements that I want to strive for in art. It's easy to make movies, but I want to make the viewer feel like they're holding a photograph, not looking at a screen.
